The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic houses the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and is worshiped by many. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens
With an area of 147 acres, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is a spacious ground with a wide variety for flowers, trees and plants. The picturesque views will leave you mesmerized at this well maintained grounds. You can even pack your own lunch and have a little picnic with your family or friends. If you prefer to eat indoors, worry not! There’s a cafeteria as well!
This man-made lake, built by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe is located right by the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This is the perfect place to simply sit back and relax while taking in the beauty of the lake as well as the temple. If you want to go for a walk around the lake, going during the sunset is highly recommended.
Kandy Garrison Cemetery
A cemetery may sound spooky, but this is one striking European styled cemetery that holds the graves of 163 men, women and children. The tombs have small inscriptions on them. The caretaker, Charles Carmichael will take you through the cemetery and relay the stories of the resting souls that are quite heartfelt and fascinating.
