Idyllically situated within a stone’s throw of Amaya Beach, the Pasikudah Bay is no ordinary beach hot-spot for vacationers. Among the many things to do near Passikuda Beach, the Pasikudah Bay is the most recommended. Stretching up to 2km with rhythmic waves breaking onto the sandy shores, the Pasikudah Bay is lined with greenery and hotels, with Amaya Beach being the first.
One of its most unique features is the shallowness of its waters. You can easily wade up to half a kilometer into the waters which will remain shallow with a very mild current. But probably the most beautiful sight at the Pasikuda Bay are the corals with their diverse collection of marine life. Occupying the outer bay area, these corals, together with the pristine and shallow waters, create the perfect environment for snorkeling in Pasikuda. Snorkeling adds to the endless list of things to do near Passikuda Beach. Another recommended activity is to take a walk along the sandy stretch alongside Passikudah Bay at dawn, and take in a stunning sunrise. It should not take you more than 30-45 minutes for a slow walk with the cool morning breeze to accompany you.
Declared as a Marine Sanctuary by NARA, the Pasikudah Bay is known to have the best reef systems on the eastern coast.
