With the maintenance of bee colonies in and around the resort, guests can now experience the taste of local bee harvesting in Kandy and also help build a more sustainable world. Amaya Hills, Kandy is part of a growing collection of bee-friendly landmarks across the island, an initiative the resort takes pride in, given the documented decline in the bee population in certain parts of the country.

Producing local grown honey, the team at Amaya Hills also teaches their guests about the importance of these insects as well as pollination of greenery throughout the city, thus raising awareness by a hosting thriving colonies of bees.
