Located in the heart of Kandy, surrounded by the beautiful lake, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, also known as Sri Dalada Maligawa is a must-visit for all tourists, during their holiday in Sri Lanka. Established in the 16th century AD, this sacred temple preserves the relic of Lord Buddha with hundreds of white-clad visitors bearing lotus flowers visiting this place for prayers and offerings.

Named a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, the temple is adorned with intricate carvings of ivory, gold, bronze and silver.
